Who we are!

LASEM (London Association of Sports & Exercise Medicine) is a London-based education group making Sports & Exercise Medicine more accessible for students.

We run talks, lectures and conferences covering everything from the basics of SEM to real-world clinical topics.

But we’re not just here to teach the subject, we also want to make the pathway into SEM clearer. That means honest conversations about what SEM doctors do day to day, how training works, what experiences might help, and how to build a strong portfolio.

Through speaker sessions, panels and Q&As, we aim to demystify the route into SEM: from early exposure and electives, to research, teaching, pitch-side experience, and the different training options available.

Our core audience is medical and physiotherapy students across London, but we welcome anyone with a genuine interest in SEM.

We aim to collaborate with university societies and clinicians to provide evidence-based learning, practical insight, and a supportive community for people exploring a future in SEM.
